Clinical Pharmacist + HEIW Clinical Placement Facilitator
Aneurin Bevan UHB Pharmacy has an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 pharmacist working in a split role between Secondary Care and HEIW. This is a newly established fixed term post, involving working 3 days a week within ABUHB Pharmacy, and 2 days a week in HEIW as a Clinical Placement Facilitator (CPF) to support the Funded Pharmacy Undergraduate Placement Programme (FPUPP).
For this role we are looking for the successful candidate to be a good communicator, highly motivated and self-directed. Effective decision-making skills are essential, and a positive attitude to change. The post holder will have excellent organisational skills, be adaptable and have good attention to detail. A passion about education and training is key for this role, as well as experience of developing others.
The 0.6 WTE part of the role within ABUHB will be to support our acute clinical services - either based at the Royal Gwent Hospital (RGH) or Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr (YYF) site. The base site will be agreed with the postholder on appointment.
The 0.4 WTE part of the role will be one of a team of CPF roles within the HEIW FPUPP team and will be undertaken on two set days each week.
If you are a pharmacist with a passion for pharmacy, we would love for you to join our team in this fantastic career portfolio building opportunity. Applications are welcomed from those who expect to gain their post-graduate credentialing this year, or pharmacists looking for an exciting new challenge.
Main duties of the job
In line with the Health Board's Clinical futures programme, the directorate has developed a range of specialist band 7 rotations aligned to our new clinical model. The post will undertake a rotational programme of clinical specialities within either the RGH or YYF site.
In this role you will build on previous experience, developing greater autonomy and responsibility whilst working within a multi-disciplinary team. Development opportunities will be in line with skills required to meet the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Advance Practice Framework and may include Non-medical prescribing skills, quality improvement, research, and education and training skills e.g. trainee pharmacist tutoring.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
