Mylar Specialty Films UK Ltd (Formerly Dupont Teijin Films (UK) Ltd) is a leading global producer of PET and PEN polyester films specialising in film products and related services for markets and industries including Battery Materials, Durable Cards, Electrical Insulation and Capacitors, Flexible Electronics, Healthcare, Imaging Media, Labels, Packaging, Photovoltaics and many more. Mylar Specialty Films is a 50/50 Joint Venture between Celanese Corporation and Teijin Limited. The business has approx. 2000 employees worldwide with manufacturing sites in Asia Pacific, America and Europe. The UK production site is based in Dumfries, Scotland, and the Global Research & Development Operation is based at Wilton on Teesside. We currently have a vacancy at our Dumfries Site for a Maintenance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the site maintenance team, supporting 24/7 operations and for developing and delivering all aspects of the site maintenance strategy to achieve safety, performance and cost targets. This includes accountability for a site maintenance budget (£6M) and management of spend to achieve business cost targets. The Maintenance Manager provides direct leadership to a small team of Technical Engineers (3off), Maintenance Leader and PTW coordinator and indirect leadership of Maintenance Supervisors (2off), Maintenance Planners (2off), Maintenance Technicians (20off) and contractors (10off). Responsible for site compliance to maintenance regulatory standards including ownership of relevant site instructions and for the safety performance of the maintenance team and contractors. Leadership of safety improvement work impacting the maintenance team including company initiatives and programmes. Responsible for setting and delivery of overall site asset care metrics incorporating best practice reliability, OEE and company metric benchmarking as required. Responsible for development and delivery of all aspects of the site maintenance strategy to achieve business asset performance and cost targets. Lead reliability reviews of critical plant equipment to improve asset performance. Leadership of maintenance and contractor organizational changes to achieve business requirements. Accountable for site maintenance budget (£6M) and management of budget to achieve business cost targets. Overall responsibility for maintenance planning and CMMS optimization. Act as asset shutdown manager as required. Lead overall training requirements of site maintenance team including technical and personal development training. Project management of maintenance improvement projects including some capital projects. Leadership of significant site/business change projects to achieve business objectives. • A minimum of an HNC in Engineering ideally to degree level. • Previous maintenance management experience in a manufacturing environment with full cost accountability for a significant maintenance budget. • Broad engineering knowledge of chemical and manufacturing plant equipment and utilities. • Detailed knowledge of statutory and legislation requirements for maintenance of a manufacturing facility in the UK. • Previous experience of leading implementation of modern maintenance strategies and techniques. • Excellent IT skills including an understanding and working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). • Demonstrated project management capability to drive equipment, process and organizational improvements for business benefit. • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead and influence across a wide range of people and functions. Desirable: • Chartered engineer status. • IOSH safety qualification/training. • Certified in Lean Six Sigma (green belt level or above) with previous experience of continuous improvement techniques and implementation within a manufacturing environment. • Experience of operating as a part of a site leadership team. • Adaptable and flexible to support on site outside normal working hours as required.
