About The Role As our business evolves, we are looking to strengthen our workforce with talented and motivated individuals across a range of disciplines to work from our Northwest Engineering Centre of Excellence and currently have this opportunity available: The core purpose of this job function is to be responsible for ensuring the smooth and timely flow of material orders. Working closely with manufacturing schedules, release production orders to the machine shop and fabrication areas Key Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To Responsibility for the production of the projects planned according to work breakdown structure, in accordance with time schedule and quality requirements and in the framework of the planned budget. Understand the use of work breakdown structures with respect to materials requirements planning and be capable of performing posting change movements in SAP. Evaluate the material requirements plan (MRP) that generate receipts (order proposals) for customer requirements and the planned independent requirements of the finished products. Understand the materials requirements view in SAP specifically in terms of MRP Group and individual / collective parts. Understand and have the ability to convert and release production orders from SAP. Understand the stock related views associated with SAP and material availability. Using the Company’s ERP system manage the release of shopfloor documentation. Liaise with warehouse management with respect to supply of materials to the shopfloor. To perform release of production orders to the shopfloor together with accompanying documentation using the Company’s ERP system. To ensure material deliveries are scheduled in line with current material requirements and review with the procurement department. To participate, where required in daily / weekly production meetings and report issues / progress. To use the Company’s ERP system to identify potential shortages and expedite with production supervision. To perform system administration in order to maintain system accuracy. Liaise with production supervision to ensure material supplies to work centres are in accordance with the master production schedule and materials requirement plan. What We’re Looking For Applications will be considered from applicants who can demonstrate the following: Minimum of grade C in English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent Educated to degree level or equivalent (HND) in Logistics or manufacturing-based discipline Good experience and understanding of SAP Knowledge and practical experience of problem-solving techniques Practical implementation of lean principles within a production control environment Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment Experience of using data systems and being able to learn and adapt systems to assist in continuous improvement SAP experience Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MS programmes particularly Microsoft Excel Intermediate level, ability to manipulate spreadsheets.
