Based in our modern, collaborative offices in either Cambridge (near the train station) or Manchester city centre, you'll work alongside a wealth of other disciplines on diverse projects across the UK. Your work will involve providing specialist heritage advice (covering both built heritage and archaeology) for town centre regeneration, mixed-use developments, employment, education, strategic land, DCOs (Development Consent Orders), and more. Responsibilities:
* Conduct historical and policy research.
* Identify historic environment constraints.
* Undertake heritage significance appraisals, impact assessments, and appeal statements.
* Prepare and submit listed building/scheduled monument consent applications.
* Prepare fee proposals and tender submissions.
* Develop client relationships.
* Support the Heritage team.
Minimum Requirements:
* Relevant degree and/or post-graduate qualification in historic environment conservation, architectural history, building conservation, archaeology, or similar.
* IHBC or CiFA membership (or eligibility).
* Private sector experience (preferred) or demonstrable adaptability.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
* Sound knowledge of UK heritage planning policy, legislation, and best practice.
* Experience in appraising heritage significance and undertaking impact assessments.
* Experience with GIS systems and data processing (archaeology), such as LiDAR.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
* Interest in business development and networking.
* Personable, professional, motivated, ambitious, and driven.
* Excellent team-working skills.
* Attention to detail and ability to manage own time and workload.
* Proficiency with Microsoft packages.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
