The Oncology & Haematology Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital is looking for two full-time Administrative Assistants to join a team that supports the administrative work necessary for the smooth running of the Centres.
The ability to prioritise and structure workload while presenting a calm and understanding approach at all times is key to this role. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to treat patients with empathy, dignity, and respect are essential.
Basic computer skills are necessary. Previous experience with the hospital electronic patient administrative system is preferred, but training will be provided.
The post holder will need to work 37.5 hours between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm and will work as part of a wider team including Consultants, Medical Secretaries, Nurses, and Health Care Assistants. We have 1 permanent position and 1 Fixed Term to cover a secondment (12 months). Part-time hours will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work flexibly across all administrative services to meet service needs, which will include reception, appointments, clinic preparation, and all office support functions.

The Lingen Davies Centre and O’Connor Haematology Unit Departments care for cancer patients within Out-patient Clinics and Day Units, delivering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy treatments.
