Are you looking for a hands-on, field-based career that plays a vital role in delivering electricity to homes and businesses? Our Distribution Apprenticeships offer exciting opportunities to train as a Fitter, Jointer or Linesperson, helping to maintain and develop the electricity network.
What to Expect:
1. Earn While You Learn: Over 4 years, you'll gain valuable on-the-job experience, industry-recognised qualifications, and academic training at college and our internal training school.
2. Work That Matters: You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining electricity supplies, responding to emergencies, and supporting the Net Zero transition.
3. Travel & Accommodation Support: Our block release training means you may need to stay away from home for several weeks at a time. SSE will fully support your travel and accommodation needs.

* Be comfortable working at height – If applying for a Linesperson role, you must demonstrate confidence in working at height.
* Enjoy hands-on outdoor work – You’ll be working outside in all weather conditions to keep the lights on for customers.
* Driving Commitment – While not essential at the start, it’s beneficial if you're learning to drive or already hold a licence. By the end of the programme, you’ll be expected to have a full UK driving licence.
