Connex Education has partnered with our client to assist children who are unable to attend school. We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher/Tutor to provide home-based education and support for students’ academic, mental, and emotional development. Our students often have complex learning requirements, so experience with ASD/ASC, SEMH, Dyslexia/Dyspraxia, and trauma would be highly beneficial.
Position Details:
1. Provide individualized tutoring to students who are disengaged from education or facing academic challenges.
2. Your expertise will be crucial in enhancing their self-esteem, subject comprehension, and overall academic success.
3. Commitment of at least 10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling options.
4. Conduct one-on-one sessions in the student’s home, with a parent or carer present.
5. Opportunity to take on additional students if desired.
6. Travel expenses covered for assignments under 3 hours per day.
7. Competitive hourly rate of £25 – £30 + PPA time
Key Responsibilities:
8. Design and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to each student’s needs.
9. Prepare session engagement reports for all tutoring sessions.
10. Work collaboratively with schools, local authorities, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive student support.
11. Participate in mandatory training and adhere to safeguarding standards.
Required Qualifications:
12. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred but not essential.
13. At least 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience.
14. Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct effective educational sessions.
15. Experience in supporting students with SEN/SEMH is essential. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
