Iconic central London location/outdoor green space needs an experienced Event Manager to be their main client contact working on a range of outdoor public events, pr & media activations, & food/cultural festivals Overview: Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role will see you working at a stunning greenspace area in London on a huge range of events, film and photographic shoots, public weekend food or cultural festivals, as well as press & media activations calling for the most iconic of London backdrops Role: This is a fantastic large outdoor space with a stunning world-famous London backdrop that is regularly used for photo-shoots, press launches and installations, and marketing activations as well as for public/community events. Your role will be as the venue-side operations contact, and will involve liaising with clients, event organisers and production companies who want to hire the venue space for their events/activities. You’ll be managing enquiries, bookings & applications from initial enquiry through to authorising the go-ahead of each event, booking these into the calendar and working closely with the clients and their production teams to help them put on safe, slick, fun and well-run events. You’ll also work closely with the Chief Executive on general marketing and client promotional activities. The role will include: Management of all hires and bookings; project coordination; venue event management; face-to-face client meetings & site visits/show-rounds; managing the event calendar; ensuring that H&S documents, risk assessments and event plans are submitted and checked; multiple stakeholder liaison (e.g. the local authority, production companies, neighbouring businesses and residents, internal staff and gardeners; oversight of all events, including briefing appointed Site Managers about individual event contracts and requirements, including agreed arrangements for set-up & de-rig, crowd management and security as appropriate Other duties include social media updating, assisting with marketing policy & strategy, and general admin including occasional reporting and minute taking at meetings. You: Relevant experience might have been gained as an Event Manager or Senior Event Coordinator/Officer within a cultural, heritage or visitor attraction, outdoor venue, events agency or production company. You’ll be an outgoing, proactive and “sleeves-rolled-up” Event Manager with venue side event operations experience ideally – and/or with a solid event management or event production background. A good understanding and experience of managing outdoor public events or festivals is desirable. You’ll have strong event project management & on-site event management skills, really good H&S knowledge (you don’t have to be IOSH or NEBOSH qualified, but you must be familiar with risk assessments, H&S and licencing for outdoor or public facing events). Someone who can engage confidently and diplomatically with a range of internal & external stakeholders, including production companies, corporate clients, marketing and event agencies, charities, members of the general public and neighbouring residents and businesses at all levels. Strong marketing & social media skills would be an advantage, and you should have good general IT knowledge. You’ll be enthusiastic, highly organised, practical, detailed and very solutions focused. You’ll also be a real “people-person” who is comfortable working in a small company and not-for-profit environment and be someone who is always cheerful, up-beat and pragmatic no matter what is thrown at you (including the rain) This is a fabulous role, needing a really thorough and flexible Event Manager, with excellent people skills, strong on event and project management, who can manage balancing both the opportunities and the considerations that outdoor public activities in an amazing location offer.
