We are seeking an experienced local government professional, ideally with some understanding of the Monitoring Officer role, who has the ambition and skills to make a significant impact.
As the Deputy Head of Governance at Fylde Council, you will work alongside the Head of Governance and Deputy Monitoring Officer, overseeing the teams responsible for a broad spectrum of critical governance services. Reporting to the Head of Governance, you will provide line management support to the varying services within the governance team.
As the council’s second Deputy Monitoring Officer, you will support the council’s Monitoring Officer (Deputy Chief Executive) in oversight of decision-making processes and the provision of effective constitutional control. You will assist in standards-related matters in your capacity as Deputy Monitoring Officer. Your role will be pivotal in providing advice and support to the council’s senior management team and elected members. You will assist with the delivery of local and national elections, as well as providing support across the range of services.

Politically Restricted Post: This role is politically restricted under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, limiting political activity for the post-holder.
Interview Dates

Following this, a further shortlisting will occur, and successful candidates will be invited to final interviews on 16th, 17th, and 18th December.
