We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacy assistant to join our expanding clinical governance / clinical trials team. Bradford Teaching Hospitals is a great place to work, with a friendly and welcoming pharmacy team. You will be part of a well-supported and established team, working with experienced staff. We will make sure that you are offered appropriate training and development for the role if required. This is a new role, and opportunities will be available depending on previous experience. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Please note this post is subject to a probationary period of 6 months.
Responsibilities:
1. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all relevant regulations in the course of duties.
2. Work within Trust and local policies, and report any non-compliance to the relevant manager.
3. Contribute to the stock management of clinical trial medication.
4. Check stock levels and expiry dates of clinical trial drugs.
5. Dispense clinical trials prescriptions.
6. Deliver dispensed medication to the research teams.
7. Assist with filing, and managing pharmacy clinical trial paperwork.
8. Book appointments with trial sponsors.
9. Monitor the temperature-controlled storage areas for clinical trial drugs and report deviations to the clinical trials pharmacy technicians.
10. Answer telephone calls and enquiries as appropriate.
11. Liaise with patients and nursing staff about prescription deliveries.
12. Attend relevant meetings with the clinical trials pharmacists and clinical trial pharmacy technicians.
13. Perform general administrative tasks as required to support the clinical trials team.
14. Complete any required training for the role.
15. Assist with audits.
