We are recruiting for an experienced Workplace Product Owner to join our growing Workplace Proposition team and play a key role in delivering Royal London’s ambitious growth strategy in the workplace pensions market.
As Product Owner, you will lead an agile squad and be responsible for developing Royal London’s workplace proposition and delivering changes to improve the experiences and outcomes of our customers, advisers, employers, and our business. This includes both the creation of new experiences and changes to Royal London’s existing workplace proposition to help build customers’ financial resilience and deliver great customer outcomes as a purpose-led mutual.
You will also work collaboratively with other squads and teams supporting Royal London’s workplace proposition to deliver the best customer, adviser, and employer solutions, and support external engagement with some of Royal London’s key corporate clients and our Independent Governance Committee.
About the role
* Provide relevant expertise on Royal London’s workplace proposition and recommend data and insight led changes to better meet customer, adviser, and employer needs.
* Lead the design, development and delivery of the end-to-end proposition.
* Articulate the proposition vision and requirements to internal stakeholders.
* Lead the delivery of meaningful customer/adviser/employer journeys and features across Royal London and across multiple channels.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop a roadmap with clear customer and business objectives aligned to the proposition vision.
* Prioritise the right customer/adviser/employer business problems based on data and insights, considering alignment to Royal London’s purpose and workplace growth strategy.
* Champion customer (includes adviser and employer) led design to ensure that design thinking principles are applied to new features and journeys to deliver high quality customer experience.
* Maintain an in-depth understanding of customer/adviser/employer needs, the competitor products/landscape, and the workplace pensions market to inform the strategic direction of Royal London’s workplace proposition.
* Provide strong leadership/ coaching of your squad and the virtual teams.
* Collaborate with the wider business to deliver on business objectives and ensure propositions are being deployed appropriately and are set up for success in attracting and retaining customers.
* Understand risk responsibilities to ensure appropriate governance processes are followed and regulatory and audit requirements are met.
* Manage stakeholders with an ability to influence key decisions.
* Manage resources and costs effectively.
About you
* Experience within the financial services sector, preferably within the long-term savings market.
* Commercially astute, with a sound understanding of customer and financial dynamics, and ability to identify focus to add greatest value.
* A proven track record developing and delivering proposition change.
* Ability to leverage insight to develop compelling propositions.
* Relevant experience working in an agile team.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and an ability to ‘connect the dots’.
* Ability to effectively engage, influence and communicate across all levels of the organisation and externally.
* Experience of leading and coaching people having led teams both directly and through matrix, defining the team’s roles and responsibilities.
* Experience in managing product development governance and conduct risk in line with risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
