A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join our professional Finance team in Caterham, Surrey. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the group, ensuring that financial reporting and internal controls are maintained to high standards.
You will also manage the finance team, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
Some of your key responsibilities:
1. Financial reporting and analysis, including overseeing the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and presenting to senior leadership and stakeholders.
2. Establishing and maintaining internal control systems to ensure financial data integrity, compliance with tax regulations and accounting standards.
3. Managing the external audit process.
4. Monitoring, managing and optimising the business’s cashflow.
5. Leading and mentoring the finance team.
6. Overseeing tax planning and reporting, as well as liaising with external consultants.
7. Overseeing the payroll process.
8. Identifying and mitigating financial risks.
9. Improving the efficiency and accuracy of the financial reporting systems and technology.
What you will bring to the role:
1. Post qualification experience as an ACA qualified accountant.
2. A proven track record of managing and developing people.
3. Experience within the construction industry is desirable but not essential.
4. Good working knowledge of VAT, Corporation tax and CIS tax.
5. Ability to interpret financial data and investigate any discrepancies or anomalies.
6. Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels.
7. Exceptional Excel skills.
8. Experienced Word and PowerPoint user.
