DETAILS Job Title Highway Electrician / Technology Engineer Reporting to Technology Manager Depot P o dington Contract type Permanent THE ROL E MSF are currently looking for engineers / electricians who have experience of working on the highways network. As a Highways Technology Engineer / Highways electrician, you will be responsible for installing power and communication systems related to motorways and trunk roads. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the efficient delivery of operational technology works and possible fault finding of these critical infrastructure assets. Here are the key aspects of the role: Demonstrate knowledge and apply current technologies, standards, specifications, and best practices related to motorway and trunk road communications systems. Perform installations to MCX standards and uphold the 1500 series specification through delivering project works. Perform essential maintenance tasks on motorway communications equipment based on agreed maintenance schedules. Review design packages and drawings to under stand delivery requirements and raise any early issues. Carry out technology refresh schemes as part of the Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF) Including CCTV, Midas and ERT’s. Occasionally r espond to emergency faults promptly and carry out corrective maintenance. Reinstate sites, cables, and equipment damaged by external factors. Collaborate with other professionals, including designers and construction managers, to ensure project success. Prepare and present project reports and update any as built drawings where. YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Liaise with electrical supervisor, site supervisor and manager to outline works set out to be done. Deliver on site works. Assisting with setting up when required & liaison with the client. Attend weekly site programming meetings and on - site safety briefing s with the client when requested. Installation of highways technology and infrastructure to relevant MCX, MCG, MCH standards. Completion of MSF record sheets, site diaries a& Check Safe app. Occasional cabling works. CANDIDATE PROFILE Confident in demonstrating & supervising a large team, safely. Swift to identify risks & challenges on site with appropriate solutions. Good communication skills and team player. Good technical approach to problem solving. Flexible in their approach to work. Occasional working away Familiar with highways work and with working at night. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS S S STS Safety Critical Medical HERS registered. ECS / CSCS card DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS SMST desirable L3 C&G in Electrical Installation 18 th Edition 239 1 – C&G Periodic Inspection and Testing.
