To actively take part in meeting the needs of the patients under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), working within the Trusts policies and procedures and the philosophy of the department To be an effective member of a multidisciplinary team under the direction and supervision of an RN and to be continually aware of the need for confidentiality Where appropriate, to continue to develop own capabilities in nursing related tasks in order to deliver a high standard of care To participate in ensuring effective use of resources and reduction of wastage within the departmental areas The post holder will have direct contact with patients in their capacity as HCA under the direction and supervision of a RN There will be a requirement for administrative functions within this role e.g. data input and maintaining health records To work in a team with Nursing and Medical staff and other Healthcare, Allied Health Professionals and support staff. To report all incidents/accidents involving patients and staff to the RN and to assist in any enquiries. Completing required incident report/Datix To answer telephone enquiries pleasantly, in accordance with the Trusts telephone answering technique and take appropriate action To participate in the use of IT within the department Service Delivery and Improvement Participate in Improvement Huddles to identify potential improvements to service delivery People Management and Development Support trainees, apprentices and learners There is no responsibility for line management
