Our client is a well-known, established player in the UK construction market. After experiencing significant growth and strong financial performance in recent years, the business is now in growth mode, entering into new markets and offering exciting new services for its customer base, which includes plenty of household names.
Reporting into the General Counsel, you will be working with autonomy and mainly focused on drafting and negotiating the full suite of construction documents including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, MF1, and TCP contracts. Your key internal clients will be the bids/tenders team and other senior decision makers.
A smaller portion of the work will involve advising on matters such as construction disputes, some general commercial contracts (i.e. procurement), and other ad hoc legal queries while liaising with external counsel.
Personality-wise, you will be someone who is largely self-sufficient and adept at managing your internal clients. It is also key that you can bring your commercial acumen to the negotiation table and balance legal risk versus commercial reward.
The business is open on PQE level, but due to the level of autonomy required, you will need to have 2 PQE and above.
The salary is a range depending on experience, but up to £80,000, and offers a car allowance and discretionary bonus.
This is a full-time role, but those seeking 4 days per week (but no less) are encouraged to apply.
