Bracken House is a purpose-built 18-bedded controlled access rehabilitation unit in the centre of Mansfield.
Bracken House provides high-quality care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to people over the age of 18 from Nottingham City and County who are experiencing a range of mental health issues and require a longer stay in hospital in order to achieve their goals.
We are seeking proactive, compassionate, caring, and recovery-focused Healthcare Assistants with excellent communication skills to join our existing dynamic multidisciplinary teams to be involved in extensive assessments and formulations to support the planning and delivery of patient care. The multidisciplinary teams all work in a way that is collaborative, evidenced-based, and responsive to people’s needs.
Main duties of the job
The teams are looking for dynamic and experienced Healthcare Support Workers with an ability to work in a flexible manner to meet the demands and needs of the service. Applicants should have experience of working in Mental Health, a good understanding of risk, and be keen to join a strong and committed team. You would be expected to have knowledge and experience of mental health rehabilitation and recovery.
You would be expected to work as part of the team undertaking the assessment, care, and treatment of patients within our service, working in a recovery-oriented and holistic manner towards the ultimate discharge of the patient.
You will be expected to participate in any future training identified in order to fulfil the role of the Healthcare Assistant. You will be given opportunities for training and development in different areas of the HCA role and any aspects of your particular interest.
Candidates will be expected to work a full range of shifts, including day and night shifts across 7 days per week.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The main duties/responsibilities of the role are:
* Assisting with ADLs, addressing physical and mental health care needs of patients.
* Undertake, record and report clinical observations as directed.
* Assess and support in the management of risk.
* Assist in treatment/activities which may involve accompanying and escorting patients to activities/appointments.
* Maintain accurate and timely records both written and computerized.
* Engage in link roles and projects.
* Ensuring IPC guidance is adhered to and managing the ward environment.
