Senior Procurement Category Manager

Are you highly analytical and commercial-minded? Are you an experienced Procurement Category Manager looking for a brand new challenge?
We are hiring a Senior Procurement Category Manager who will be responsible for a portfolio of high value categories across the organisation. Managing a spend of circa £25m, you will be an advocate for the procurement function and best practice.)
You will provide analysis and reporting of market dynamics and cost drivers for your categories and undertake a range of sourcing activities to support the needs of the organisation.
Please note that a full UK driving license is essential for this role and travel between Marston offices UK-wide is required.
What you will be doing:
• Managing a team of Category Managers
• Delivering budgeted cost savings within your categories of spend
• Drafting, negotiating and delivering robust and appropriate supplier contracts for your categories as well as providing support for the team
• Managing complex supplier relationships and owning regular commercial meetings to ensure engagement, alignment and clear communication
• Tracking, assessing and driving performance improvements, acting as a point for escalations and issues through to resolution
• Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive results whilst minimising risk
• Interacting with the Transactional Procurement Team to support process improvement, spend transparency and policy compliance
• Implementation of new systems, processes and procedures when required with Director of Procurements guidance and in line with Marston Holdings Group policies and procedures
What we are looking for:
• A senior-level procurement expert with experience of managing multiple categories of spend
• Organised with a very keen eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure
• Commercially astute and customer focused, comfortable leading supplier negotiations
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong knowledge and experience of Procurement Category Management within Indirect Procurement
• Experience of creating end-to-end category plans and negotiating best commercial agreements in line with business requirements
• Strong understanding of contracts and comfortable liaising with legal counsel
• Ability to demonstrate a track record of YOY cost savings and value added initiatives
• MCIPS or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years experience in a fast-paced Procurement environment managing Indirect categories
• Knowledge of ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus)
• Experience managing a remote team
• Strong experience managing IT/Technology categories
