Children Social Worker
Location: Twickenham
Rate: £37/hr
Start date: ASAP
Full Time: Mon - Fri (36 hrs a week)
Hatched Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities in the Twickenham area. This is a contract role for 3 - 6 months with a chance of extension. The expectation is for the team to be in the office/out in the community 3 days a week.
Responsibilities:
1. Supporting children and young people by undertaking child protection investigations alongside safety and contingency planning.
2. Building strong and respectful working relationships with families, their support network, and our partner agencies.
3. Working on cases with increased complexity, including court work and pre-proceedings experience.
4. Contributing to team management, deputising for the team leaders, and potentially supervising the work of an ASYE or students.
5. Ensuring that children and young people are actively involved in our work and their voice is captured in our case recording.
6. Actively participating in reflective supervision and group supervision.
Qualifications:
1. Educated to a degree level with a relevant professional qualification in social work.
2. Successful completion of Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE).
3. Active Social Work England registration and proven evidence of continuing professional development.
Skills and Experience:
1. Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships, and co-producing solutions to challenges across a diverse set of stakeholders, including children, young people, and their families, advocating the voices of those we are working with.
2. Proven ability to effectively use research, data, intelligence, and evidence to create meaningful insight and to inform own decision-making.
3. Experience of keeping and maintaining records (in accordance with local policy) and producing accurate reports, presentations, and written updates to a range of stakeholders (which will include families, children, or young people).
4. Knowledge of statutory legislation and national policy drivers that will affect children's services and your role.
