Annex 21:The post is offered to a fully qualified candidate who will be issued with the full band 8b JD, or to a candidate who meets the majority of the criteria and will attain a Master’s degree in a relevant subject as a condition of appointment under Annex 21. The postholder will be required to undertake up to a 36-month training programme, the aim is to attain a Master’s Degree in a relevant subject. Completion of the qualification is a requirement of the contract of employment. During the training period, salary will be paid in accordance with Annex 21 of the Terms and Conditions. Upon successful attainment of the qualification, the post holder will automatically move to 8b, as they will meet the full KSF outline, and be expected to undertake all duties within this JD as indicated.

For anyone without a masters level qualification, please access the Annex 21 JD. Under Annex 21 Terms and Conditions the salary will be as follows:
The post holder will be required to undertake up to a 36-month training programme upon commencement of this role, with an aim to attain the Master’s Degree qualification.
Completion of the qualification is a requirement of the contract of employment. During this training period, salary will be paid in accordance with Annex 21 of the Terms and Conditions.
Months 1 – 12 of the training period will be paid at 65% of the top of Band 8b pay scale.
Months 13 - 24 of the training period will be paid at 70% of the top of Band 8b pay scale.
Months 25 – 36 of the training period will be paid at 75% of the top of Band 8b pay scale.
Upon successful attainment of the qualification, even if sooner than the 36 month allocated timeframe, the post holder will automatically move to the Band 8b as they will then meet the full KSF outline of this role, and be expected to undertake all duties within this Job Description as indicated.

* Degree in Pharmacy, relevant subject or equivalent experience.
* Advanced knowledge of medicines management including controlled drugs, dispensing practices, legislation and Good Clinical Practice.
* Good knowledge of medicines governance processes.
