Nursing Assistant Paediatric Outpatients

An exciting opportunity has arisen. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and friendly team member to cover maternity leave within our brand new Paediatric Outpatients Department as a Band 3 Nursing Assistant.
Main duties of the job
The post involves assisting the nursing staff in the delivery of care to children and their families in the hospital outpatient setting. We would expect you to accurately record, collate, monitor and provide feedback of patient information to nursing and/or medical staff, initiating actions as necessary.
The post holder must have excellent interpersonal skills, be empathetic, self-motivated, both proactive and work as part of a team, and able to develop practical skills such as phlebotomy. It is essential to have a holistic view to patient care.
The successful applicant must have NVQ III or equivalent, or currently working towards this, previous experience of working in a caring background, is able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, plus the ability to work as part of a team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or working towards
Knowledge
* Provide evidence of achieved competency in key clinical skills
* Have an understanding of NHS Services
* Basic IT skills
* Basic understanding of NHS issues
* Previous experience of maintaining accurate records and working as part of a team
* Understanding of quality & change in the clinical setting
* Expectation that the Care certificate qualification will need to be completed within 6 months of starting if not already attained.
* Willingness to complete ward based Band 3 training competencies
* Previous experience of working with children.
