Our client, based in Trafford Park, is looking to recruit an experienced Shift Lead/Supervisor.
The role involves supervising a team of Engineering/Production workers.
Hours:
Monday to Friday - 3 shifts rotating pattern: Mornings, Afternoons & Nights.
Responsibilities & Duties
1. Safety: Manage the daily safety of all employees within your area by creating an active safety culture where all staff members share the same beliefs, perceptions, and values towards HSE and its criticality within the workplace, 'Safety First'.
2. Quality: Ensure all staff in your section adhere to the Quality specifications by fostering a 'Right First Time' approach to all work undertaken within the area. Ensure staff are well versed with both the route cards and the specifications, driving sustainable improvements to ensure quality issues aren't repeated.
3. Delivery: Ensure production throughput against the schedule is met by setting daily targets for all employees within your area. Monitor the area's performance in line with the plan to ensure customer deliveries are not compromised.
4. Cost: Identify business improvement opportunities and assist in the implementation by working closely with the Continuous Improvement team.
5. People Management: Through effective communication, create a culture of trust and collective responsibility. Carry out Welcome to Work/Toolbox talks to communicate daily targets and assign duties.
6. Relationship Management: Develop a positive relationship between immediate colleagues and peers to create a healthy work environment. Ensure clear lines of communication are maintained between all sections on the shop floor.
7. Self-management: Self-motivated individual with a positive optimistic attitude, who engages the interest and participation of others.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
1. Experience of managing small diverse teams.
2. Supervisory/leadership experience/training would be an advantage.
3. Basic Microsoft Office skills, email, Word, and Excel.
4. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both written and verbal.
5. Proactive problem solver/team player.
Hours of Work
Working across all 3 shifts - Rotating pattern: Mornings, Afternoons & Nights.

2. Holidays = 25 days in a full year plus the bank holidays - pro-rata in the first year.
3. Death in Service: Insurance from day 1 - currently the benefit specification is 1 x salary for those in probationary period and 4 x salary thereafter.
