An exciting development opportunity has arisen within our Hartlepool Elective HUB for an autonomous Nurse Practitioner who is dynamic and innovative to join our team of Practitioners within this Nurse Led site.
There is the opportunity to develop further to extend your skills and knowledge and train to become an Advanced Clinical Practitioner within this field.
You will be expected to rotate short periods cross site to ensure yourself and team maintain their acute skills and knowledge.
Our Hub is the first stand-alone Nurse led unit in the country and an excellent opportunity for the right person who is committed and passionate in promoting and driving services forward. There are lots of opportunities for development and training.
The candidate should be a professionally credible first level registered nurse with substantial experience of Elective Orthopaedic and Surgical Care. A well-respected professional and experienced clinical nurse who sets high standards and leads by example to motivate and empower others.
Working with the local and nationally agreed frameworks whilst developing your practice to enable you to have the ability to exercise independent judgement to assess, investigate, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the clinical care and management of patients within the Elective Care department.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Deliver and participate in the clinical care of patients in the elective care Unit at UHH and any deteriorating patient on UHH site.
* Prioritise health needs and intervenes appropriately.
* Recognise any deteriorating patients and escalate accordingly.
* Transfer unstable patients across site or to another centre accordingly.
* To be professional and legally accountable for all work undertaken to practice at an advanced level of professional autonomy and accountability that is within Trust policies and the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Conduct (2008) or the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* To develop a level of advanced and comprehensive health assessment skills based on a specialist body of knowledge under supervision.
* To assist in appropriately assessing, examining, investigating, diagnosing and treating patients, resulting in the safe management and appropriate referral or discharge of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations.
* Assist with the management of patients within ward setting.
* Develop the ability to identify the need for appropriate diagnostic tests and interpret the results.
* To identify and intervene proactively where circumstances contribute to an unsafe environment for patients, staff or relatives and escalate these to the Care Group/Departmental Risk Lead and / or Consultant Leads for Clinical Governance.
