Operations Manager (Manufacturing)

A leading global manufacturer are seeking a dynamic Operations Manager to join their Site Leadership Team. This is a pivotal role, focused on optimising manufacturing processes, driving productivity, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations (24/7) across all business areas, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
* Drive performance to achieve production, quality, and productivity targets.
* Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a large cross-functional team, fostering innovation and problem-solving.
* Champion strong people management practices, including career development and performance management.
* Actively contribute to the Site Leadership Team, collaborating with the Plant Manager to embed a high-performance culture.
* Ensure safe working practices and manage change effectively.
* Manage operating costs, align staffing with production needs, and participate in budget reviews.
* Monitor key performance indicators, addressing variances with corrective actions.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years in a senior management role within a manufacturing environment.
* Expertise in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) with a proven track record of driving efficiencies.
* Strong ability to operate strategically and tactically within operations.
* Experience leading performance and cultural improvements.
* Skilled in presenting solutions to senior management or board-level stakeholders.
* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Proven flexibility and capability to lead and manage change within tight deadlines.
* Economic acumen, ethical behaviour, and adherence to legislation.
* Experience in managing safety processes.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
Desirable Criteria
* Degree-level education in a relevant discipline.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly within a multinational organization.
