Position Overview:
The Pre-Sales Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting the sales team by offering technical expertise and solutions-based insight throughout the sales cycle. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, sales acumen, and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will engage with customers to understand their business and technical needs, demonstrate how our products meet those needs, and ensure a seamless transition to the post-sales team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Consultation: Collaborate with the sales team and clients to understand client requirements, identify opportunities for Finchetto solutions with those clients, and qualify opportunities based on technical fit.
2. Technical Presentations: Design, develop and deliver technical presentations of the Company’s solutions and design and present solutions based on our products/services.
3. Product Demonstrations: Lead engaging and comprehensive product demos, showcasing the features, capabilities, and value of our solutions to prospective customers.
4. Solution Design: Work closely with customers to define a solution that aligns with their business objectives, including providing guidance on the best use of products, integrations, and configurations.
5. Proposal Development: Assist in the preparation of technical sections for proposals, bids, and tenders, ensuring all technical aspects align with the customer's needs.
6. Proof of Concept (POC): Manage and execute POC activities, helping clients validate the product, create comparative performance benchmarks and overcome any technical challenges.
7. Customer Support: Act as the primary technical resource during the sales process, addressing any technical questions or issues that arise and collaborating with internal teams to resolve them.
8. Stakeholder Communication: Build strong relationships with key technical stakeholders and decision-makers within the client's organization.
9. Feedback Loop: Provide feedback from clients to product management and R&D teams to assist in future product development and improvements, identifying barriers to sales, new opportunities and use-cases and new or modified features that will enhance the penetration of our solution into new and existing customers.
10. Continuous Learning: Keep up to date with new technologies, product features, and industry trends to better serve clients and improve technical sales strategies.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
1. Technical Expertise: A strong background in large-scale computer networking is a must, particularly for hyperscalers, data centers, and high-performance computing environments, with a focus on network switches. A solid understanding of the entire network fabric is also crucial.
2. Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
3. Experience: 3+ years of experience in a technical pre-sales, solutions architect, or similar role.
4. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
5. Customer-Focused: Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction and relationship-building.
6. Problem-Solving: Proven ability to design and deliver appropriate solutions to meet diverse business needs.
7. Presentation Skills: Experience delivering technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
8. Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, engineering, and customer support.
9. Certifications: Relevant technical certifications (e.g., AWS, Cisco, Microsoft, etc.) are desirable but not mandatory.
10. Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects and customer engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
11. Travel: Willingness to travel across the UK and potentially beyond for customer meetings and presentations when necessary.
Preferred Skills:
1. Experience in optical networking, network switching and the wider network fabric.
2. Familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce.
3. Experience with RFP/RFI processes and managing technical responses.
