Job Title: Data Technician
Main Purpose of Job:
To provide technical and operational support to the Syndicate Underwriting teams by analyzing and processing key policy data, ensuring accurate monitoring and reporting of premiums.
Contribute to the enhancement of policy data quality for all Syndicate Underwriting Teams by identifying improvement areas through analysis of relevant MI and collaboration with key stakeholders.
Key Tasks:
Assist the Operations and Underwriting teams on the Syndicate platform with processing bureau market messaging data to accurately monitor outstanding premiums.
Support the credit control process by reviewing data and resolving queries within the Policy Admin System.
Help reconcile premium settlements to written premium records for Consortia and other facilities as needed.
Collaborate with Syndicate Underwriting Teams and other stakeholders to monitor and improve data quality.
Assist Finance and underwriting teams with tasks related to the monthly close process.
Provide regular MI reporting to key stakeholders to facilitate accurate outstanding premium monitoring.
Assist in producing regulatory returns, such as Lloyd’s PMD.
Monitor and address Lloyd’s Insurance Company (LIC) bureau queries on behalf of underwriting teams.
Contribute to clearing underwriting Data Validations.
Prepare and maintain relevant operational procedures.
Support the Syndicate operating model as required.Key Personal Skills Required:
Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Excel and Office 365.
Ability to work collaboratively with other teams to achieve common goals.Key Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Professional Qualifications Required:
Some experience in the Lloyd’s market and understanding of bureau messaging.
Understanding of Syndicate underwriting models and reporting.
Progress towards a professional insurance qualification, e.g., CII.
Developing knowledge of key in-house Underwriting Systems.
Good working knowledge of Policy Administration Systems.
