Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum DOE

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for operational excellence? Our client is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee and drive all operational activities within their company. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dedicated team and ensure the delivery of high-quality services in land and vegetation management, arboriculture, grounds maintenance, and landscaping.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Optimise resource allocation and monitor key operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.
2. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop operational teams, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and collaboration. Recruit, retain, and maintain skilled staff, and conduct regular performance reviews.
3. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Champion the “SAFE” culture, ensuring all operations adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular risk assessments and promote environmentally sustainable practices.
4. Client and Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners. Respond promptly to client enquiries and concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction.
5. Financial Oversight: Contribute to the development of the operational budget, manage costs effectively, and identify opportunities to improve profitability. Ensure accurate and timely invoicing for completed projects.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience in a senior operational role, preferably within land and vegetation management, arboriculture, or a related industry.
2. Strong understanding of tree surgery techniques, equipment, and industry standards.
3. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
4. In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and improving operational efficiency.
6. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Desirable:
1. Relevant qualifications in arboriculture, forestry, or land management (e.g., LANTRA, NPTC certifications).
2. Experience with project management tools and techniques.
3. Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) or other mapping technologies.
4. Membership in professional organisations such as the Arboricultural Association or the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
