Liquid Personnel is currently recruiting for a Social Worker to join a busy All Age Disability Service (0-25) based in Southwark.
What will your responsibilities be?
You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and effective integrated social work service to meet the needs of children and young people with learning disabilities and other disabilities, in accordance with Children’s and Adults’ legislation, departmental policies, and practice. This includes undertaking strength-based social care assessments to determine individual needs and producing outcome-focused support plans. Additionally, you will ensure that focused interventions are delivered to safeguard children and young people, promote independence, achieve positive outcomes, and encourage the use of assistive technology. The All Age Disability Service (0-25) offers a comprehensive and integrated social care pathway for children and young people with learning disabilities and other disabilities. This service ensures a seamless transition from childhood through adolescence and into adulthood, providing continuous support and care.

Qualifications and Experiences:
Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration and evidence of continued professional development. Must have knowledge of legislation, statutory guidance, and social work and care management practices, especially safeguarding. Understanding and commitment to “social work matters” principles and Southwark’s practice framework are essential. Knowledge of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors, and risk and protective factors is required. Familiarity with roles and responsibilities of key children’s and adult’s agencies, and awareness of issues relating to diverse communities and deprivation patterns is necessary. Commitment to the Council’s Equality and Diversity Policy is expected.
Experience in direct social work with children, families, and adults, including needs assessment and care planning, is essential. Must have experience in multi-disciplinary services and assessments, demonstrating competence in a Learning Disability environment. Proven ability to work in an integrated manner, achieving positive outcomes through teamwork and partnerships, is required. Experience in child protection, assessment, and childcare planning is necessary, along with promoting service improvement through collaboration with other disciplines and services.
