Our client is a multi-billion turnover multi-national food manufacturing business who is looking for an experienced in-house counsel to head up legal matters for their UK business.
Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for a broad range of legal matters, including corporate governance, compliance, contracts, and stakeholder management. You will work closely with various departments across the business, including Procurement, HR, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft, review, and manage legal documents such as contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, and commercial licensing agreements.
* Provide legal, regulatory, and operational advice on commercial transactions with suppliers and customers.
* Support procurement processes, ensuring effective contract negotiations and vendor management.
* Assist with corporate legal matters, including governance, restructuring projects, and documentation management.
* Lead training on compliance and governance, including Anti-Bribery, GDPR, Whistleblowing, and Competition Law.
* Work with Group Legal Teams to develop and implement efficient legal procedures.
* Manage intellectual property matters, including trademarks and patents.
What We’re Looking For:
* A law degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as in-house counsel, preferably within the FMCG sector.
* Strong contract negotiation and commercial legal experience.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* High level of emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate complex legal matters.
* Ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with legal software applications and document management systems.
