Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Endoscopy Technician to join our team at York Hospital. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated and compassionate healthcare worker to join the team. You will receive a comprehensive training package, and be able to engage in internal and external training which will enable you to progress in your career. York Endoscopy is a new state of the art unit, incorporating 7 procedure rooms. The unit performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including Colonoscopy, OGD, ERCP, Bronchoscopy, TNE, Colonic and oesophageal stenting, manometry and Bowel screening. York Endoscopy unit prides itself in giving patients the highest standards of care. York and Scarborough Endoscopy units have recently been awarded JAG accreditation. Hours of working are Monday to Sunday, between 8am-8pm. The post holder will be expected to work week days and weekends. Please note - hours of working are currently under review. Main duties of the job The Endoscopy Technician role is varied role. Duties include:- Supporting patients during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Supporting registered nurses in admissions, procedure rooms and with discharging of patients. Taking diagnostic biopsies, and correctly labelling specimens. Continuous monitoring of patient observations. Venepuncture and Cannulation.
