We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance (M&E) Supervisor to join our Facilities Management team at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key activities:
1. Reporting to the Operations Manager / Senior Operations Manager
2. To supervise the mechanical/electrical/building trade staff and specialist contractors
3. Ensure the immediate and proper allocation of work, and the completion of such work, in accordance with the performance monitoring system and to client satisfaction.
4. Order materials and services as required within agreed delegation level and certify satisfactory delivery/completion.
5. Monitor trade staff performance, timekeeping and sickness in accordance with Company Policy.
6. Provide estimates for quoted works, site measurements, cost control information and maintain necessary records for effective administration as directed.
7. Required to undertake training and qualify as AP and/or CP if required.
8. Requirement to work with tools as necessary day to day, during emergencies and supporting staff
9. Working 40 hours per week from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with participation in a call-out rota system to assist the company in responding to emergency situations.
Skills, qualifications & experience:
1. Must hold a recognised electrical or mechanical trade apprenticeship and/or relevant qualifications to level 3 (theory and practice) in a relevant electrical or mechanical discipline with suitable industry experience.
2. Will have significant experience in a building services environment with comprehensive M&E knowledge ideally within a hospital setting
3. Will be a team player ideally with supervisory / management experience and used to working within a large team
4. Will be client-focused with a delivery oriented and ‘can-do’ approach to work
5. Able to demonstrate knowledge and application of the various trade groups to be managed i.e. building works, mechanical and electrical engineering
6. Good communication and customer service skills
7. Able to adapt and develop other skills, as well as demonstrate effective planning, organising and prioritising skills
