Position Overview:
Our client, a reputable construction company, is seeking a reliable and diligent Traffic Marshall to ensure the safe and efficient flow of traffic on a construction site in Leiston, Suffolk. The Traffic Marshall plays a crucial role in enhancing safety and coordinating the movement of vehicles and pedestrians within the construction area.
Key Responsibilities:
Traffic Control: Safely direct and guide vehicular and pedestrian traffic within and around the construction site.
Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and incidents.
Site Access: Manage access points, barriers, and signage to control entry and exit of vehicles and personnel.
Communication: Effectively communicate with vehicle operators and construction personnel using standard hand signals and radios.
Monitoring: Continuously monitor the movement of vehicles and equipment, reporting any unsafe conditions or violations.
Equipment Checks: Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on safety equipment and signage.
Record-Keeping: Maintain records of traffic movements and incidents as required.
Site Coordination: Collaborate with the site supervisor and construction team to ensure the smooth and safe operation of traffic control measures.
Qualifications:
Valid Traffic Marshall certification - NPORS or CPCS only
Prior experience as a Traffic Marshall on construction sites.
Knowledge of traffic management regulations and safety procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Physical fitness and the ability to stand for extended periods.
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
