Adult Learning Senior Teaching Assistant

Would you like to support learners in various qualifications and inspire those within the local Community? Are you experienced in supporting learners with different needs in an educational environment?
We are looking to recruit Senior Teaching Assistants to support learners with specific needs. The successful candidates will assist tutors in preparing and delivering lessons for learners in a group setting to suit their needs. Post holders will work with adults from diverse backgrounds and be sensitive to the unique needs and challenges faced by learners.
Adult Learning, rated Good by Ofsted, delivers Adult Skills and Community Learning provision throughout Cumbria. Our service focuses on transforming the lives of our most disadvantaged communities, enhancing employment opportunities, and meeting the needs of local employers.
Our service works with learners of all abilities, from absolute beginners to intermediate and beyond. You will need to demonstrate the ability to help learners succeed with a range of learning styles and support learners with diverse needs.
The successful candidate will support in-person provision primarily in the North West of Cumbria, with the potential to support learners across Cumbria who access our online provision. We aim to offer courses during daytime and evenings, therefore the successful candidate must be able to work flexibly to meet demand.
The ideal candidate will be positive, flexible, and enthusiastic, with the ability to support learners with a range of needs using various strategies. Experience of providing support within a classroom environment is essential, preferably within an adult learning setting.

DBS
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with an Adults Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with adults. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults.
