Are you an Electrical Design Engineer looking for a permanent role and the opportunity to join a well established Design House consisting of Chartered Surveyors, Architects and Engineers at a period of expansive growth and success. A background in electrical design engineering is the requirement and the Client is open to previous industry knowledge - transferable to the built environment. In this role you will be working primarily on Government and MOD buildings/projects and will be required to hold Security Clearance (not necessary to start) Based in Portsmouth (or Monmouth or remote with one day in the office) you will be working within the Engineering team providing professional solutions to construction problems. Flexibility on location is considered as many of the projects are spread out across the South and London. There is a potential for hybrid working or the opportunity to work out of the other offices based in Monmouth. Please note there is a wide salary range for this role which will depend heavily on level of skills, knolwedge and behaviours. Below is a general (but not exhaustive) overview of the role. Role & Responsibilities: You will initially be required to undertake all aspects of electrical design. Developing a project specification with colleagues, often including those from other engineering disciplines. Producing details of specifications and outline designs. You will liaise with engineers across the M&E discipline and Building Services. You will be a client facing engineer and will be heavily involved in design team meetings with clients. Communicate projects critical issues in a timely manner to Directors and clients Mentor graduates and technicians Actively engage in CPD to maintain and facilitate personal and career development Skills Required: You will preferably have experience of working on large building projects (£5M) AutoCAD & Revit experience Minimum of HNC in Building Services, and ideally CIBSE or IET existing member Excellent communication skills Good knowledge of Microsoft Office with Microsoft Project experience desirable Electrical design engineering in the building services, construction or similar industry. Hevacomp experience along with SBEM calculations would be highly desirable. Experience Preferred in the following: BMS & Controls Experience in BIM desirable but not essential Role: Electrical Design Engineer Location: Portsmouth Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 bonus benefits (open to discussion dep on level of experience)
