Registered Building Inspector

Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 (DOE)

Our client, one of the leading Approved Inspectors, offers building control services tailored to client requirements. They provide solutions from the design phase to completion.
The Role
Due to continued expansion, my client is now looking for Building Control Surveyors within the Newcastle and Stockton area. Working in a defined geographical area, you will support and build relationships with clients by providing proactive building regulations plans and site assessments/inspections on a diverse range of projects.
Duties of the Post Include:
1. Inspecting buildings being constructed and/or converted, working closely with Developers and Builders to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
2. Plan checking to ensure compliance with building regulations.
3. Effectively self-managing your workload to provide a responsive, helpful, and professional service while maximizing time spent on-site.
4. Recording inspection details in the database and communicating comments to customers.
5. Ongoing liaison with Surveyors and Management on technical matters to ensure that standards are maintained and procedures adhered to.
6. Ongoing liaison with Developers/Clients/Builders, offering technical advice and guidance.
7. Undertaking any other duties as reasonably required and building relationships.
Experience and Qualifications Required:
1. Candidates must be registered to 1 RBI or awaiting an interview or have had one for level 2-3.
2. You will be great with clients, technically astute, organized, and self-motivated.
3. Full member or near chartership of professional organisations: MRICS / MCABE, MCIOB, MCICIOW or similar in the appropriate discipline of Building Control.
4. Able to conduct inspections at each stage of the build.
5. 5 years of relevant BC experience, including plan checks and site inspections, as well as relevant warranty, quality, or defect resolution experience.
6. Appropriate knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations, associated legislation, and construction standards.
7. Understanding of general insurance principles and terminology is desirable.
