The Engineering Management Department is a growing & ambitious faculty for Transport, Engineering & Supply Chain Management teaching and research. Part of the School of Infrastructure and Built Environment, within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, we are looking for academics who can help deliver new programmes in transport and engineering management and contribute to an increasing research profile in these areas.
We place a strong emphasis on team-working, collegiality, and making a strong, tangible contribution to the college and university within a culture in which staff and students feel supported.
As the successful applicant, you will contribute to the Department’s research, teaching, and external engagement, including through:
1. Working on research projects and proposals and writing up research for publication; supervising student projects; collaborating on research in and beyond the Department/School.
2. Teaching/providing support to students at all levels of study and carrying out associated processes; contributing to programme design and content; innovating in delivery and assessment; engaging with quality assurance.
3. Supporting students on industrial placements; delivering research impact; pursuing opportunities for industrial engagement; enhancing the University’s reputation with professional bodies.
We are looking for someone with qualifications and experience in Transport or a related area of engineering, with expertise in safety, resilience or sustainability being a particular advantage. Ability to work with a range of learners is an important attribute, as is the desire to contribute to a positive, collegiate environment, building good relationships with students, industry partners, and colleagues across the university.
