St. Luke's Hospice is a local charity providing compassionate care to people whose illnesses are no longer curable. Our mission is to promote dignity in dying and empower people to make the choices they want, from the moment they are diagnosed. Currently, we are seeking two dedicated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists to provide maternity cover in Hospice Community Services and help us provide the highest quality of care to our patients. About the role As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide expert advice related to specific conditions or treatment pathways, conduct research and implement new changes that can enhance the patients' health quality. You will be responsible for prescribing medication, assessing, diagnosing and managing patient problems, providing education and supportive counselling to the patients' and families. Proven experience in a similar role and the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team are essential. Salary: £39,287 to £49,875 per year, pro rata, depending on experience Contract: Fixed Term Contract - 9 Months (With Possibility for Extension) Hours: 1 x Full-time (37.5 hours per week) and 1 x Part-Time (22.5 hours per week) Location: Basildon Hospice however you will need to work in the community Other responsibilities include: Assessing the health needs of patients, families and carers Providing expert advice related to specific conditions Providing education to other health professionals and carers Conducting research to improve health outcomes Implementing changes to improve care and services About you: Proven experience of specialist palliative care Excellent communication and patient-focussed approach Strong assessment, clinical and decision-making skills Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team A current and valid registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) About applying: When submitting your application, be sure to answer the questions in our application process to tell us more about your skills, knowledge, and experience that make you the perfect candidate for this role.
