Salary and Benefits: £27,298 - £30,096 (depending on experience); 6% pension pro-rata; 28 days + 12 days public holidays pro-rata

Who are we?
\n
Western Isles Rape Crisis is a local charity working primarily with Women and Girls aged 13+ who have been affected by sexual violence. We cover all of the Western Isles, with a support worker based in Uist covering the Southern Isles. We offer a range of services including specialist support, advocacy, group-work and prevention work. We are part of the Rape Crisis Scotland Network.

Who are we looking for?
\n
Western Isles Rape Crisis Centre is looking to recruit an experienced support worker to join our team. The overall aim of this post is to provide support to anyone affected by sexual violence, with a particular focus on childhood trauma.
\n
What will you be doing?
\n
\n
* Provide one-to-one specialist support for survivors of sexual violence, using a trauma-informed approach which moves with the needs and wishes of survivor.
\n
* Develop and support a drop-in service and group-work programme focusing on improving women and girls’ well-being.
\n
* Work collaboratively in partnership with local agencies to share resources, raise awareness and understanding of the causes, consequences, and ensure there are appropriate responses to sexual violence.
\n
* Contribute to monitoring and evaluation frameworks to evidence the impact of the support service for survivors.
\n
* Record all information pertaining to WIRCC’s support services accurately and appropriately, in line with WIRCC’s support service information recording and Data Protection systems.
\n
* Participate in regular support and supervision, and team meetings.
\n
* Contribute to the running of the Centre, including supporting other projects as service requires.
\n
* Any other duties as required by WIRCC Board of Directors.

What will you need?
\n
\n
* Experience of working with people affected by sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse
\n
* Experience of maintaining professional boundaries
\n
* Experience of multi-agency working
\n
* Experience of working effectively as part of a team
\n
* Excellent communication, both oral and written
\n
* Use of own car & clean driving license
\n
* Ability to work flexibly as required
\n
\n
