Are you an experienced band 5 nurse wishing to explore your potential for career progression? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 6 District Nurse or Junior Sister post working within the IP2 Ipswich West Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT). The team is co-located with its Ipswich East INT at Constantine House at the centre of Ipswich.
The Ipswich West INT is working towards a fully integrated model of health and social care. The team consists of District Nurses/Junior Sisters, Community Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners, Generic Workers, and Social Workers. The team is overseen by an INT manager, supported by a Care Coordinator and Administrator.
Previous Band 6 experience relevant to the role will be an advantage, but full training and support will be given. You will be supported in developing your own clinical and leadership practice by the Band 7 nurse lead and your peer band 6 nurses and will have the opportunity to be involved with local and service wide development or innovation.
Due to this post being a community post it is essential for the successful candidate to be able to drive from day one of employment.
Your duties will include shared management of a community nursing team with other District Nurse and Junior Sisters.
Other duties will include Triage, caseload management, wound care, leg ulcer management, pressure area care, palliative care, venepuncture, attending GP multi-disciplinary team meetings, PICC line care, male, female, supra-pubic catheterisation, ordering equipment, support and mentoring of students and involvement in link roles such as tissue viability.
