The Opportunity: We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Geography Teacher to join this forward-thinking school in February 2025. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this is an excellent opportunity to teach Geography at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A-Level depending on experience. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and forward-thinking Geography lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, using innovative teaching methods that inspire curiosity and independent learning. Design dynamic and inclusive lesson plans that cater to diverse student needs, integrating a variety of resources and teaching strategies to enhance learning. Assess student progress regularly, providing timely feedback to support their academic and personal growth. Promote an understanding of geography by connecting theoretical concepts to real-world issues, encouraging students to critically analyze and evaluate geographical data. Incorporate global events and current affairs into lessons, fostering students’ awareness of the world around them and encouraging them to apply geographical knowledge to contemporary issues. Support the development of independent research skills through project-based learning, field trips, and the use of geographical technologies. Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities department to share ideas and create cross-curricular learning opportunities that enrich the student experience. Contribute to the school’s co-curricular activities, including organizing field trips, geography clubs, and enrichment programs that extend students’ learning beyond the classroom. Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and attendance, in line with school policies and procedures. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, supporting students’ well-being and promoting a culture of respect and collaboration. Stay up to date with the latest trends in education, continuously improving your practice by attending professional development sessions and integrating new technologies and strategies into your teaching. What We’re Looking For: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. A strong understanding of the Geography curriculum, with the ability to teach using innovative and engaging approaches. A degree in Geography or a related subject (desirable). A genuine passion for Geography and an enthusiasm for sharing this with students. Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students. Why Join Us?
