SHE (Safety, Health & Environment Manager) REQUIRED ON PERMANENT BASIS IN WEST MIDLANDS FOR A MAIN CONTRACTOR
I am assisting my client with an exciting opportunity for a SHE Manager to join a leading main contractor. The business undertakes projects in various sectors including Commercial, Education, and Leisure projects, with values ranging between £10m and £30m.
As SHE Manager you will be responsible for managing projects to ensure their safe completion, in accordance with programme, specifications, and budget.
Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Package
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct audits on SHE standards and ensure compliance with safe working practices across active projects.
* Serve as a SHEQ Advisor to support the safe execution of live construction projects.
* Assist with internal training programs, such as asbestos awareness, as required.
* Stay updated on health, safety, and environmental legislation, maintaining compliance standards.
* Investigate accidents across live projects and produce detailed initial reports.
* Develop new toolbox talks, best practice information sheets, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities:
* Provide monthly reports to Directors when necessary.
* Communicate with HSE, EA, LA, and insurance brokers regarding incidents, following discussions with the SH&S Manager, EHS & Ops Manager, and SML Directors.
* Maintain records of accidents, incidents, and near misses to calculate AIR and AFR metrics.
* Support the bid team in responding to SHEQ-related queries.
* Contribute to the company’s social value initiatives.
* Engage with subcontractors to address and improve poor performance.
* Compile documentation for CHAS and other third-party accreditation bodies.
* Assist with crisis management efforts.
* Aid in the development of project-specific SHEQ documents, including CEMPs, CPHSPs, and Fire Plans.
