Leading, motivating and inspiring the team you will have overall responsibility for all aspects of people development including technical training, product awareness, health & safety, and commercial training. In conjunction with our Apprentice Programme Manager, Early Careers team and external partners you will oversee the successful delivery of our apprenticeship programmes. You will promote a culture of learning and development, giving our colleagues and Franchise Partners a great career experience whilst also preparing us for the future skills and capabilities we will need as a business. Based at Loughborough until Q1 2026, you will play a significant role in the relocation of the Academy to our Milton Keynes Head Office site. In this role you will: • Working with your Management Team, identify and evaluate short and long-term development needs, based on current business plans and market strategies, to support us in the delivery of our 'Amazing People 2030’ strategy • Work with the team to create and deliver a progressive and exciting learning portfolio comprising of local and global development offerings from our Scania Communities of Expertise • Work closely with our Head of People Business Partners to define business priorities and design development solutions that are joined up with our overall employer brand • Lead our quarterly People Development Forums to identify and prioritise Company-wide training needs across all areas of people development• Optimize the use of our learning platforms so they become an integral part of our overall development offering • Create and maintain close working relationships with internal departments, our Franchise Partners, and external Suppliers • Promote the use of new learning methods, sharing good practices and trends• As a member of the People & Culture leadership team, play an active role in the leadership of the entire department• Work with Health & Safety to ensure a safe, secure and balanced work environment through informative training • Work with our suppliers to ensure we are getting the best possible service, challenging them to top performance • Use data and insights to help us promote and develop our training offering • Ensure the smooth operation of the Scania Academy site (currently based at Loughborough) • Play a significant role in driving and delivering the relocation of the current Academy from Loughborough to Milton Keynes About you: • Demonstrable leadership and supplier-management experience• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities even when under pressure • Strong financial understanding with an ability to run a revenue-generating team • Knowledge of, or interest in, the latest learning and development trends• A can-do, people-centric approach • Ability to use data insights to support decision-making • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport • Ability to be a hands-on operator as well as contributing to strategic discussions • Experience within the development/training arena is advantageous, but not essential• An ambassador of our Scania core values Closing date: 13/11/2024 Next steps: 1.
