Protocol Education is currently recruiting creatively minded teaching assistants to work in a state-of-the-art special needs school in Kingston Upon Thames, starting after Easter. This inclusive school offers teaching assistants the chance to work with students of all ages, including early years, primary, and secondary students, and provides training throughout the role.
The school seeks individuals who enjoy working with children of all ages and are passionate about positively impacting students' learning and development. No experience is required; however, commitment, passion, and dedication are essential attributes.
As a teaching assistant, you will work in small classes of 6-8 students with special needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and complex needs. You will support students with their tailored curriculum, developing speech & language skills, teaching vocabulary and comprehension through visual resources, supporting core subjects like numeracy and literacy, and assisting in creative lessons such as art, music, swimming, cooking, K9 therapy, and sensory play.
Responsibilities include:
* Monday to Friday
* A year-long role with flexibility
* Supporting students with autism, speech & language, and learning difficulties
* Working with small classes of 6-8 students
* Developing communication and social skills
* Supporting students on a one-to-one basis
* Assisting in key subjects such as numeracy and literacy
* Supporting creative lessons like art, music, swimming, and cooking

Pay rates quoted include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanency later.
