Our Purpose
We are seeking x2 Legal Cashiers to forge long-term relationships that have a positive impact on our people, our clients, our business partners, and our community.
Role Purpose
To form part of a team who deal with the day-to-day processing of financial transactions in the Finance Department and ensuring that the firm policies and procedures are followed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Validate, verify, and process client, disbursement, and general ledger cheques.
2. Handle receipts, cheques, and incoming/outgoing telegraphic transfers (domestic and international).
3. Perform bank reconciliations and resolve financial transaction queries.
4. Produce single and multi-matter invoices, cancellation notes, and handle write-offs or transfers between files.
5. Support fee earners and secretaries with billing queries and set up client fee arrangements as instructed.
6. Maintain and use financial accounts systems to extract and manage information.
Person Specification
1. Experience in a cashier or accounts role within legal or professional services, with proficiency in IT systems (e.g., PMS and Excel).
2. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency in financial tasks.
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport at all levels.
4. A team player with initiative, flexibility and a professional approach to work.
5. High standards of confidentiality, discretion, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Technical Knowledge
1. Foundation level AAT/ILFM Diploma qualified or equivalent experience or, would be willing to work towards qualification.
2. Must be computer literate with excellent working knowledge
