LEAD HOTEL RECEPTIONIST
We are looking for a friendly, organised "lead" hotel receptionist to join our privately owned and managed hotel.
In this role, you will report directly to the Hotel Manager, leading a team of receptionists, organising rotas and work schedules, monitoring time sheets, and overseeing billing for guests and account customers.
You will be responsible for training staff in the specific qualities and standards that we uphold and expect from all of our staff.
Welcome guests to our hotel, make room, function, and catering reservations, and attend to guests’ requirements, leading your team by example.
The ideal candidate will be committed to ensuring that every guest experiences an enjoyable stay and portrays an excellent image of the hotel that leaves a positive impression.
Main Lead Receptionist Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead the reception team from the front, mentoring new recruits.
* Greet hotel guests in person and on the phone with a professional and cheerful disposition.
* Answer any questions or concerns from guests in a professional and courteous manner.
* Provide a warm and welcoming experience to everyone.
* Promote a culture of “nothing is too much trouble and we are only too happy to help.”
* Ensure all Daily/Weekly/Monthly departmental tasks are carried out.
* Implement training sessions for staff on software and protocols.
* Act as a mentor for the reception team.
* Maintain a tidy front desk.
* Operate our Oracle PMS, Microsoft Office programs, and phone systems.
* Maintain excellent computer and bookkeeping records for our account customers.
* Monitor and control cashier and bookkeeping responsibilities as required.
* Liaise with other departments and staff to ensure the smooth running of the business.
Previous experience would be beneficial, especially with Oracle PMS reservations and OPERA Software.
Apart from some of the duties listed above, it is important that the successful applicant is prepared at times to assist other team members in different departments.
You will be working 5 days out of 7 on a shift pattern to suit the needs of the business. Shifts are normally either 7:00 am – 2:15 pm or 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm and include weekends as well as weekdays.
You will get 28 days of holiday including Bank Holidays.
Own transport is essential to travel to our rural location (DT2 9PW) as there is no public transport available.

Pay: £10.00-£12.50 per hour
