Region Overview Within Europe we have over 24 facilities across 15 countries, with 6000 employees. We are currently seeking for a Technical Engineering Director for Europe. The work location can be anywhere in Europe where JELD-WEN operates. YOUR ROLE This role is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the overall Continuous Improvement strategy, Manufacturing Strategy, as well as Industrial Engineering and Technology of our European production sites. As Technical Director Europe you will identify, lead, and deploy Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives across the European plants and business groups to deliver quantified bottom line performance improvement. You will define a structured manufacturing strategy and implementation schedule from current state to desired state for Europe Operations. The Technical Director will lead Operations to deliver the desired state by prioritizing and coordinating required activities across the regions. A crucial pilar in this position will be the development of footprint and investment requirements to establish Centres of Excellence that will enable business growth in-line with Product Management and Sales direction. You will lead a team of 3 and a total team size of 30 (dotted line) and you will be directly reporting into the VP Operations, Europe. What impact you will make: Effective deployment of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, business process assessment, planning, facilitation and execution of kaizen events, and the systemic improvement of standard work practices and procedures. Ensure the business drives leading indicator metrics for business improvement and cascades appropriately. Drive positive transformation throughout the European region, build and mentor effective matrix teams and drive employee engagement involvement and development. E stablish a Continuous Improvement culture that embeds standardization, discipline to process, compliance, and improvement into daily business. Definition of the European Manufacturing strategy in line with business strategy and growth opportunities Deliv er prioritized implementation of Manufacturing strategy in-line with Product Management and Sales direction. Definition of technology standards and qualified suppliers, in cooperation with Procurement. Optimization of local engineering resources while delivering the industrial transformation agenda. Coaching, mentoring, and educating employees to develop, support and sustain a CI culture. Facilitate and lead CI events as the subject matter expert. What you'll need to succeed: University degree in Engineering or Technology Several years of experience in a leading role in industrial organizations (preferably in a matrix environment) Proficient in developing industrial set ups in a large size company (strategic planning and execution) Organizational and cultural change management Lean manufacturing techniques and CI activities Statistical analysis skills Workshop facilitation skills Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Champion preferred Fluent in English (written and spoken), any additional language is a plus Willingness to travel (50%) What We Offer Investing in People is one of our Core Values, we strive to attract & retain great people As such, JELD-WEN offers competitive compensation & benefits packages.
