A Brief Job Description:
Therapist–In House – Specializing in Sexual Abuse and Problematic Sexual Behavior (PSB) Treatment - Licensed Masters Level Therapist trained in trauma-informed care and located in our Monroe County office to provide Sexual Abuse Treatment to children, adults and their families. The location of a Therapist within the county will work to provide easier access to mental health services for children and families directly impacted by sexual abuse and Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB). Collaboration with local professionals and organizations such as Bivona CAC, Monroe County Probation, Law Enforcement and Department of Human Services will also occur in an effort to provide holistic treatment and coordinate care. This position may require travel as requested and appropriate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
* Modeling the Agency’s core values of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment in every interaction with co-workers, clients, service providers and the community at large
* Provides comprehensive treatment services to meet the needs of the clients impacted by sexual abuse and Problematic Sexual Behaviors (PSB) utilizing community, group, individual, conjoint and family therapy as needed and required
* Provide clinical assessments and documentation to support collaborative and healing processes as requested and appropriate including monthly summaries to Monroe County Department of Human Services
* Engage in clinical supervision, agency meetings and clinical case review as needed and required
* Maintain and complete clinical documentation for all active clients in a timely manner and send to Supervisor for approval
* Works with Supervisor and Office Coordinator to manage caseload expectations
* Attend Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) as requested and appropriate
* Participate on task forces, community meetings or other committees, as appropriate
* Become trained and fluent in utilizing treatment modalities specific to treating trauma, abuse and/or loss (NMT, TBRI, PSB-CBT, TraumaPlay)
* Complete reports for court, school, and other community agencies as necessary and appropriate and approved by Supervisor
* Adhere to all policy and procedure as outlined in the Therapeutic Services Procedural Manual
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
* Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related field
* Licensure in New York State (LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LCAT etc.)
* Experience in trauma informed treatment and intervention, motivational interviewing and healing centered approach to therapeutic treatment
* Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and multiple service provider agencies
* Competent in use of computer software such as EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and virtual platforms
* Experience and knowledge on the use of computers, cell phones and a broad understanding of using the internet, server and e-mail in the workplace
* Verbal and written communication, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize agency needs
* Strong interpersonal skills that align with agency expectations and culture
* Good problem solving and time management skills and the ability to remain calm in a crisis
* Knowledge of local county and regional educational, community and behavioral health systems
* Maintains valid and current certifications and licensures required to hold the position
* Complies with all governmental and legal requirements
