Techniche Global is supporting a leading supplier of ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera technology in the UK to appoint a Field Service Engineer covering Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, and Bedfordshire.
As the Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, installation, and commissioning of advanced ANPR systems used across various road networks in these regions.
This is a home-based role. You will be provided with a company van and will travel to sites daily, Monday to Friday, to undertake a range of activities.
Key Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:
Site survey to define equipment required on site
On site repairs/equipment replacement
Pre-installation configuration of equipment
Installation and commissioning of ANPR equipment
Provision of customer training
‘Live’ testing of new products
Provision of technical support when in office
Assist with pre-qualification equipment testing
Accurate and thorough documentation of activities carried out on site.
Logging and reporting design issues
Provide a knowledge base to internal and external customers on the company's products
Escalate issues as needed to the engineering team and the Customer Support Manager
Work as a team to meet contractual support requirements
Have good cross department communication and relationships
Assist in the retention of support contracts by offering superior customer support experience
Assist in the education of clients on the company's products
Have a valid passport and be able to travel as required
Skills and Experience Reqiured:
Good understanding of networking, WAN, LAN, WiFi & GPRS/3G
Ability to work on own initiative & as part of the team.
Ability to understand customer issues & define resolution paths to these
Understanding of XML, .Net 3.5 framework, C# or equivalent
Ability to comprehend written and verbal communication
Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
Manage time and set priorities for tasks
Understand the functionality of the Hardware and software, in context of client usage
Practice effective self‐management
Previous experience of working in a technology installation environment
Ability to assess priorities and work to strict deadlines
Experience of working as part of a team
Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain good working relationships
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the organisation and with external contacts
Ability and willingness to work weekends, when required Qualifications Required:
GCE/GCSEs grade C or higher in English & Maths
ONC Electronic & Electrical engineering
Relevant Vocational qualifications
IPAF accreditation
G39 accreditation
NRSWA signing, lighting & Guarding accreditation
Driving Licence
