We are seeking a knowledgeable Parts & Stores Controller to join our busy Motorsport engineering Parts department in Spalding. You will help manage the day to day running working alongside the Purchasing & Stock Controller and reporting to our Sales & Workshop Manager. Operating in an effective and profitable manner by maximising sales, profit and service to both our motorsport teams and retail customers. To be successful in this role you will have previous Parts/stock control experience ideally in an automotive engineering background and demonstrate the following skills:
* Manage the parts inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
* Liaise with suppliers to order parts, chase orders, resolve price, quality, or invoice issues.
* Source parts, negotiate prices and lead times.
* Receive in parts to ensure correct quantity and quality and process to relevant location (this will include some manual lifting).
* Chase back orders.
* Check stock orders against the invoice to ensure deliveries are correct.
* Pricing parts to maintain profitability.
* Identifying parts and logging them on the Sage Software system.
* Pick parts from stock for engineers.
* Check through job cards within the department to ensure all job cards are up to date.
* Support with invoicing, as needed.
* Prepare and package goods outwards.
* Develop and maintain professional working relationships with suppliers' external representatives.
* Deal with customers and internal staff.
* Act as the point of contact for our engineers that require assistance with parts.
* Ensure all the relevant documentation is accurately completed and all company procedures are followed.
* Carry out additional duties and a variety of other tasks as assigned.
What are we looking for?
* Automotive or engine component knowledge or recognition would be preferred.
* Stock control experience.
* Purchasing experience.
* Experience in stock software systems such as Sage would be preferred but not essential.
* Good communicative skills and ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
* Good computer skills (Excel and Word).
* Literate and numerate.
* Systematic and organised; pays attention to the finer details.
* Work well under pressure.
* A professional and calm approach with strong management skills.
* Able to work on your own initiative and work well as part of a team.
* Adapt to changing workload and be flexible to suit the needs of the business.
* An interest in motorsport would be a bonus.
Hours:
* 30-40 hours Monday– Friday.
* Plus working additional hours through busy periods. Additional hours will be paid at an overtime rate, 22 days holiday, private healthcare.
