Job Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
* Promote and prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children and young people as part of our safeguarding policy.
* Ensure all staff understand their roles and responsibilities regarding safeguarding and provide appropriate learning opportunities.
* Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people can flourish.
* Build positive relationships with young people and staff, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff, supporting their professional growth and development.
* Work collaboratively with external partners to ensure young people have access to education, training, and career development opportunities.
* Uphold the home's ethos of prioritising the well-being and development of each child in our care.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* A passion for prioritising the welfare and development of young people.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and best practices.
* Proven ability to manage a team effectively, fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and continuous improvement.
* Experience working within the Ofsted inspection framework.
* Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or willingness to work towards it.
* At least 2 years of relevant experience in residential care for children within the last 5 years.
* At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory and management role within a care setting.
* Ability to develop close working relationships with therapists and contribute to a comprehensive therapeutic service.
