About the School
All Saints Catholic Primary School in Anfield is a unique school set in the heart of Liverpool. It is a thriving and popular school that is connected to its local community to provide a rich and extensive curriculum to serve the needs of all of its very special pupils. With a recent successful Ofsted inspection, it has an excellent reputation in the city, particularly for the innovative approach to inclusion – the school manages a provision for 36 pupils with severe learning difficulties. In addition, it manages the Anfield Children’s Centre and a flexible provision for Nursery pupils from the age of 2 that runs from 8am to 6pm each day.
About the Role
We are seeking a person who:
1. Has a passion for our school, including a love for children and a desire to support the development of staff.
2. Has a clear vision for primary education and the skills to implement it to further improve the attainment and achievement of our pupils.
3. Has a clear understanding of leadership within the context of Catholic education and Catholic Social Teaching.
4. Can build upon the existing rich curriculum with high expectations of children’s attainment, achievement, and behaviour, supporting each child to develop and reach their own unique potential.
5. Is committed to inclusion, putting the needs of children first and supporting them in all aspects of their development, including working with parents and other constituents.
6. Has a strong track record of raising standards across a school and the leadership qualities to inspire, challenge, and encourage staff to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
7. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, can communicate clearly, and can organise with an understanding of key priorities, sustaining a culture of good work-life balance and well-being for staff.
8. Can challenge and empower staff so they can be the best they can be.
Personal Qualities
The community of All Saints can offer:
1. An extremely happy school to work in, where relationships are good and partnerships are strong. Above all, our pupils are fantastic.
2. The strong support of an experienced governing body with great expertise and understanding, putting children at the heart of all decision-making.
3. A talented and supportive, very hard-working group of senior and middle leaders.
4. A range of community partners keen to accompany the school on the next chapter of this wonderful story, including the Liverpool Philharmonic and the Liverpool FC Foundation.
5. Hugely supportive parents, carers, and a thriving parish community to work alongside.
6. A strong commitment to your own professional development and well-being.
I will leave the rest to our Catholic Schools’ Inspectorate report from 2024: The school mission statement expresses: ‘In the light of God, we shine on our own, but we shine brighter together.’ This is nurtured and lived out in all the school does for the pupils to flourish. One staff member said: “I’m so proud of the belief our school has in every pupil. No barrier is too great to overcome, no child too difficult to work with, nobody is forgotten, nobody is left behind.” Come and see us.
